The Filipinos are an optimistic race. Amidst the recent stock market dip, there is widespread confidence about the country’s economic outlook. But are Filipinos prepared to face fluctuations and seize opportunities? Are they ready for the Brighter Life?
For the past five years, Sun Life has been conducting a nationwide Study of Lifestyles, Attitudes and Relationships (SOLAR)to gain insights on the public’s attitudes and behavior toward financial matters. This research has been instrumental in helping Sun Life pursue its thrust to raise financial literacy among Filipinos.
Uncovering a Paradox
Conducted during the first quarter of 2013 with 1,100 respondents coming from middle to upper income segments, the findings of this year’s SOLAR have been compiled in an account titled SOLAR FLARe or the Financial Literacy Report. Here, Sun Life discovered that Filipinos are confident about how they manage their finances, with 20% claiming to be an expert. However, test scores from a basic financial literacy quiz revealed a need for them to be educated further as only 8% scored above 80% and no one scored over 90%.
The sun is out, the birds are singing, everywhere suddenly seems to have been dipped in golden paint. Wherever you look, people are out enjoying the sun and feeling very happy that summer seems to have finally arrived. Before long, you too will be clearing out the garden, preparing for the sunshine. Barbecues, trips to the beach, the world is you oyster when it’s warm.
So what will you be including in your summer wardrobe this year? One firm favourite in mine is a sturdy pair of flip flops. Whether you are walking to town or jetting off to some exotic location, ensuring you have a good pair of shoes for walking in, which also won’t let your feet get too hot, is a must. Investing in a nice pair of sunglasses is another essential on my to-do list. The right pair can flatter your face and work well with any outfit. Even if the sun isn’t out, a pair of sunglasses gently sweeping your hair off your face looks perfect.
We’re off to a few festivals this summer, too. Although I am very excited at the prospect of seeing several of my favourite artists altogether on one day, the thought has crossed my mind that the weather may not remain quite as idyllic as it is at the moment. If this is the case, then I want to be fully prepared. It’s time to pull out… the summer back-up plan.
Hey there! How's your weekend? Happy first of July!
It's been quite a while since I last posted a review on the beauty products I've been using for the past few months. I've been lucky to be invited to a lot of events recently that's why I missed posting a lot of beauty product reviews.
Enough said, I am finally back and this time, I'll be sharing to you a product I can highly guarantee to give you that flattering and beautifully looking eyebrows - the famous MAC Brow Set in Girl Boy.
At first, I was a bit hesitant to splurge on this product (priced at Php 950.00), thinking that I can also get the same output with cheaper alternatives (Majolica Majorca is a very good alternative!) that are available in the market. I'm really glad I took the risk given that I was able to save some during the past few months plus this product served as a reward for a job well done during my IELTS exam.
